For Women’s History Month, I’ve released a special song about Anne Frank on March 20.

Anne Frank…

I confess, as I was writing this song--and recording the vocals over and over again--I broke down crying more than once. To live such a life and experience such horrific persecution...I can't fully comprehend it, but I wanted to write a song that honors these people, and the courage, bravery, and kindness Anne Frank and so many others lived out until their lives were taken.

This song chronicles her life from their time of hiding in the secret annex to her death in the concentration camp. The music is simple because I want the listener to focus on the words. Hopefully we can be reminded of this time so as to never repeat it again.

The illustration for the album cover art is based off of a replica of her room in the secret annex. As I was researching her life and the secret annex, I found a fascinating website that shares her family’s story and gives virtual tours of the secret annex. You can explore it here, and see how I made the cover art here.
