Letter No. 10 [the present]

Dear Friend,

I got a present in the mail today. It doesn’t matter that I got myself this present, all that matters is that it IS one. It was in a big, blue box, and it was a little heavy. Here’s a poem about it:

There once was a girl named Tara,

who ordered a scanner to share-a,

her paintings and drawings on the world-wide web,

so she wouldn’t have to live in a shed*.

*No offense to sheds; I think they’re quite wonderful and cozy—for garden tools and lawn-mowers to live in—but not for artists.

The name of this present is: Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner. A little lengthy, and a little lofty to claim perfection, but we’ll see. I’ll have to think of a nickname. Right now I’m letting him take a rest on my couch. Travel must be ghastly at this time.

We’ll get to work on Monday. I’ll tell you how it goes.

Sincerely,

Tara

P.S. This is the last letter I’ll be posting before switching to a different format. I’ll miss writing every week, but I think it’s for the best. I know you’ll understand.
