Letter No. 53 {inktober 2021}

Dear Friend,

It’s that time of year again! Inktober is an illustration challenge that happens every October, and this will be the second year I participate in it.

I’ve created my own prompt list and guidelines that I’ll be following—anyone is welcome to join and/or follow along. It may seem like “cheating,” but I’ve also been creating my illustrations early—for several different reasons:

-I’m still looking for full-time work and have more time on my hands right now

-I wanted time to photograph the process for each illustration (and then time to edit and share those photos)

-I want to post consistently during October!

-I’m also doing a challenge in November called Nanowrimo where you write a novel during the month of November, so I didn’t want to be burned out for that

Here are my prompt list and guidelines:

If you want to join me, you can use the hashtags #minitober and #minitober2021 and tag me (@tara_greene_art) so I can see what you make. :) Also feel free to modify the guidelines to your own preferences and needs!

I’ve also created a page for all of the process photos for each day under “Gallery,” so you can browse through that to see how I made each illustration.

Can’t wait!

Tara
